Our New Digital Platform is Live!

Dear New Day Digital Customer,
We’re pleased to announce that our New Day Digital streaming platform has been integrated with the New Day Films website and you will now be able to access your films at www.newday.com. With this upgrade in place, there will no longer be a separate New Day Digital platform. You will now be able to purchase and stream our films directly through the New Day Films site, and you’ll also be able to purchase DVDs from the same film page. We look forward to hearing your feedback on the new fully integrated site.

All of the existing licenses that you have purchased through your New Day Digital account will continue to be operational, but to access your account on the integrated site you will have to reset your password. To reset your password, please go to www.newday.com, click on LOGIN, click on Request New Password, Enter your email address and click on Email New Password. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password.

Once you have logged in and changed your password, you can view your purchased films by going to:

  1. My Account > Orders
  2. Click on an Order Number
  3. Click on a Title

Select Licensee Tools to view all your licensed films and to see your purchase and expiration dates. Here you will also find your new streaming links for institutional use.

We want to make this upgrade as smooth as possible for you, so please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have. If you have any general questions regarding our new service, please contact Karen Knox (). For technical support, please contact Andrea Debellis ().

Best regards and thank you for your patience,
The New Day Steering Committee

Jean Michel Dissard With support from the MacArthur Foundation, Jean-Michel Dissard (with Gitte Peng) directed and produced I LEARN AMERICA. Prior to this documentary, Jean-Michel produced critically acclaimed films chronicling adolescent youth, including:  “Raising Victor Vargas” by Peter Sollett (Cannes + Sundance Film Festivals) a fiction about Latino youth in New York City;  “Rikers High” (Best NYC Documentary at Tribeca Film Festival), a documentary about 3 incarcerated teenagers in NYC's Rikers Island; “Ezra” (Pan-African Festival FESPACO Grand Prize), a fiction about the child soldiers of Liberia. He was one of the writer and producer on “Down to the Bone” (Sundance Best Directing and Best Acting) directed by Debra Granik. Building on the needs and creativity of local allies, Jean-Michel also uses I LEARN AMERICA to spark “home-grown” events addressing issue of immigration and education in schools and communities around the USA. Originally from France, Jean-Michel migrated to the US when he was 16 years old. Jean-Michel directed and produced I LEARN AMERICA with Gitte Peng an education reform expert who served as Senior Education Policy Advisor in Mayor Bloomberg’s administration, developing and overseeing the City’s school reform policies and  initiatives. She has also worked at the NYC Board of Education and the National Urban League and in various advocacy and public interest roles. While at Yale Law School, she represented asylum-seekers and low-income clients. Gitte has also produced documentaries for NY Public Television, directed a short about new immigrant teens in the Bronx, and edited with filmmaker Sam Pollard.

Art is one of the oldest activities on Earth, even predating science or math. But too often we forget it is a basic part of a balanced, healthy life. * Bitrate Switching?

All our streaming films implement a technology known as Bitrate Switching. This means that while viewing your purchased films, the optimal streaming experience is determined by the quality of your internet connection and the size of the player being used. This is done automatically by the website, and needs no settings or adjustment from you.
